Claims (31)
- 출력 표면을 포함하는 중공형 광 재순환 공동(hollow light recycling cavity)을 형성하는 부분 투과성 전방 반사기 및 후방 반사기 - 상기 후방 반사기의 적어도 제1 부분은 전방 반사기와 평행하지 않음 - ;
중공형 광 재순환 공동 내에 배치되는 적어도 하나의 반-경면 요소(semi-specular element); 및
중공형 광 재순환 공동 내로 광을 방출하도록 배치되는 하나 이상의 광원 - 상기 하나 이상의 광원은 제한된 각도 범위에 걸쳐 중공형 광 재순환 공동 내로 광을 방출하도록 구성됨 -
을 포함하는 백라이트. - 제1항에 있어서, 전방 반사기와 후방 반사기 중 적어도 하나는 비-평면형인 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 후방 반사기의 제1 부분은 후방 반사기의 반사 표면의 총 표면적의 적어도 10%를 구성하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 후방 반사기의 제2 부분은 전방 반사기와 평행하지 않은 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 후방 반사기는 원하는 출력 광속 분포(output light flux distribution)를 제공하도록 형상화되는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 전방 반사기는 비편광된 가시광에 대한 반구 반사율(hemispherical reflectivity) Rf hemi를 포함하며, 후방 반사기는 비편광된 가시광의 반구 반사율 Rb hemi를 포함하고, Rf hemi * Rb hemi는 적어도 0.55인 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 출력 표면에 수직하게 취한 전방 반사기와 후방 반사기 사이에서 측정된 거리 H는 중공형 광 재순환 공동의 길이 L과 폭 W 중 적어도 하나를 따라 변하는 백라이트.
- 제7항에 있어서, H는 광 재순환 공동의 중앙 영역 부근에서 최소인 백라이트.
- 제7항에 있어서, H는 광 재순환 공동의 에지 영역 부근에서 최대인 백라이트.
- 제7항에 있어서, 하나 이상의 광원은 백라이트의 에지에 근접하게 배치되며, 또한 H는 백라이트의 에지로부터 멀어지는 방향으로 감소하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 출력 표면은 횡방향 평면을 한정하며, 하나 이상의 광원은 0 내지 40도 범위의 횡방향 평면에 대한 평균 광속 편향각(average flux deviation angle)으로 광 재순환 공동 내로 광을 방출하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 후방 반사기는 전방 반사기로부터 멀리 향하는 오목한 형상을 포함하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 후방 반사기의 적어도 제1 부분은 비-경면 반사 영역을 포함하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 반-경면 요소는 15도 입사각에서 15% 초과이고 45도 입사각에서 95% 미만인 전달비(transport ratio)를 포함하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 반-경면 요소는 후방 반사기와 마주하는 전방 반사기의 주 표면 상에 배치되는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 반-경면 요소는 전방 반사기와 마주하는 후방 반사기의 주 표면 상에 배치되는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 주어진 입사각의 광에 대한 적어도 하나의 반-경면 요소의 전달비는 (F - B)/(F + B)이며, 여기서 F는 입사광이 상기 요소와 상호작용할 때 전방 방향으로 산란되는 광의 양이고, B는 입사광이 상기 요소와 상호작용할 때 후방 방향으로 산란되는 광의 양인 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 전방 반사기는 대체로 입사각에 따라 증가하는 반사율 및 대체로 입사각에 따라 감소하는 투과율을 포함하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 출력 표면의 에지 영역 부근의 휘도에 대한 출력 표면의 중앙 영역 부근의 휘도의 비가 적어도 약 1.10인 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 전방 반사기는 중합체 다층 반사 편광 필름을 포함하는 백라이트.
- 제20항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 반-경면 요소는 후방 반사기와 마주하는 중합체 다층 반사 편광 필름의 주 표면 상에 배치되는 층을 포함하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 하나 이상의 광원은 백라이트의 적어도 하나의 에지에 근접하게 배치되는 백라이트.
- 제22항에 있어서, 비-평면형 후방 반사기를 추가로 포함하는 백라이트.
- 제1항에 있어서, 직하형(direct-lit) 백라이트인 백라이트.
- 제1항의 백라이트를 포함하는 간판(sign).
- 제1항의 백라이트를 포함하는 조명 기구(luminaire).
- 원하는 출력 광속 분포를 제공하도록 작동가능한 백라이트를 형성하는 방법으로서,
출력 표면을 포함하는 중공형 광 재순환 공동을 형성하는 단계 - 상기 중공형 광 재순환 공동은 부분 투과성 전방 반사기 및 평면형 후방 반사기를 추가로 포함함 - ;
제한된 각도 범위에 걸쳐 광 재순환 공동 내로 광을 방출하도록 하나 이상의 광원을 위치시키는 단계;
원하는 출력 광속 분포를 선택하는 단계;
제1 출력 광속 분포를 측정하는 단계;
제1 출력 광속 분포를 원하는 출력 광속 분포와 비교하는 단계;
후방 반사기를 형상화하는 단계;
제2 출력 광속 분포를 측정하는 단계; 및
제2 출력 광속 분포를 원하는 출력 광속 분포와 비교하는 단계
를 포함하는 방법. - 제27항에 있어서, 후방 반사기를 형상화하는 단계는 후방 반사기를 열성형(thermoforming)하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제27항에 있어서, 후방 반사기를 형상화하는 단계는 후방 반사기를 굽힘(bending)시키는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제27항에 있어서, 후방 반사기를 형상화하는 단계는 후방 반사기를 스탬핑(stamping)하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 디스플레이 패널; 및
디스플레이 패널에 광을 제공하도록 배치되는 백라이트
를 포함하며,
상기 백라이트는,
출력 표면을 포함하는 중공형 광 재순환 공동을 형성하는 부분 투과성 전방 반사기 및 후방 반사기 - 상기 후방 반사기의 적어도 제1 부분은 전방 반사기와 평행하지 않음 - ;
중공형 광 재순환 공동 내에 배치되는 적어도 하나의 반-경면 요소; 및
중공형 광 재순환 공동 내로 광을 방출하도록 배치되는 하나 이상의 광원 - 상기 하나 이상의 광원은 제한된 각도 범위에 걸쳐 중공형 광 재순환 공동 내로 광을 방출하도록 구성됨 -
을 포함하는 디스플레이 시스템.
