Claims (18)
- 발광 소자를 가지는 화소를 복수 구비한 유기 EL 장치로서,표시 화상의 휘도 비율에 따라서 화소에 설치되는 상기 발광 소자의 발광 시간을 조정하는 구동 장치를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 구동 장치는 상기 화소에 설치되는 상기 발광 소자를 비(非)발광으로 하는 타이밍을 조정함으로써, 상기 발광 소자의 발광 시간을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 화소 중 소정 수(數)의 화소를 단위로 하여 설치된 복수의 기입용 주사선과,상기 기입용 주사선에 대응하여 설치된 복수의 소거용 주사선과,상기 기입용 주사선이 설치되는 단위의 상기 소정 수의 화소마다에 설치되고, 상기 기입용 주사선 및 상기 소거용 주사선에 대하여 직교하는 방향으로 뻗은 복수의 데이터선을 구비하고,상기 구동 장치는 상기 기입용 주사선을 통하여 상기 화소에 설치되는 상기 발광 소자를 발광시키고, 상기 소거용 주사선을 통하여 상기 화소에 설치되는 발광 소자를 비발광으로 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 구동 장치는 상기 복수의 기입용 주사선 중 소정 수를 단위로 하여 구동하는 복수의 기입용 주사 드라이버를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 3 항 또는 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 구동 장치는 상기 복수의 소거용 주사선 중 소정 수를 단위로 하여 구동하는 복수의 소거용 주사 드라이버를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 구동 장치는 상기 기입용 주사 드라이버 또는 상기 소거용 주사 드라이버의 수(數)로 소정의 단위 기간을 분할하고, 분할된 기간 중의 각각에서 상기 발광 소자의 발광 및 비발광을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 화소 각각은 상기 기입용 주사선 및 상기 데이터선으로부터의 신호에 의거하여 상기 발광 소자를 각각 구동하는 구동 소자와,상기 구동 소자의 특성 편차를 보상하는 보상 회로를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 화소 중 소정 수의 화소를 단위로 하여 설치된 복수의 주사선과,상기 주사선이 설치되는 단위의 상기 소정 수의 화소마다에 설치되고, 상기 주사선에 대하여 직교하는 방향으로 뻗은 복수의 데이터선을 구비하고,상기 구동 장치는 상기 복수의 주사선 중 어느 하나를 선택하는 기간을, 제 1 기간 및 제 2 기간으로 나누어서 상기 발광 소자의 발광 시간을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 구동 장치는 상기 복수의 주사선 중 소정 수를 단위로 하여 구동하는 복수의 주사 드라이버를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 구동 장치는 상기 제 1 기간 및 상기 제 2 기간의 각각을, 상기 주사 드라이버의 수로 분할하고, 분할된 기간 중의 각각에서 상기 발광 소자의 발광 및 비발광을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 8 항 내지 제 10 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 화소의 각각은 상기 주사선 및 상기 데이터선으로부터의 신호에 의거하여 상기 발광 소자를 각각 구동하는 구동 소자와,상기 구동 소자의 특성 편차를 보상하는 보상 회로를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 화소는 적색을 발광하는 적색 발광 소자, 녹색을 발광하는 녹색 발광 소자 및 청색을 발광하는 청색 발광 소자를 구비하고 있고,상기 구동 장치는 상기 화소에 설치되는 상기 적색 발광 소자, 녹색 발광 소자 및 청색 발광 소자의 각각을 동일한 발광 개시(開始) 타이밍에서 발광시키고, 상기 화소에 설치되는 상기 적색 발광 소자, 상기 녹색 발광 소자 및 상기 청색 발광 소자의 각각을 동일한 비발광 개시 타이밍에서 비발광으로 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 구동 장치는 상기 표시 화상의 휘도 비율에 대하여, 상기 발광 소자의 발광 휘도가 비선형으로 되도록 상기 발광 소자의 발광 시간을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치.
- 발광 소자를 가지는 화소를 복수 구비한 유기 EL 장치의 구동 방법으로서,표시 화상의 휘도 비율에 따라서 화소에 설치되는 상기 발광 소자의 발광 시간을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,상기 구동 장치는 상기 화소에 설치되는 상기 발광 소자를 비발광으로 하는 타이밍을 조정함으로써, 상기 발광 소자의 발광 시간을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 15 항에 있어서,상기 화소는 적색을 발광하는 적색 발광 소자, 녹색을 발광하는 녹색 발광 소자 및 청색을 발광하는 청색 발광 소자를 구비하고 있고,상기 화소에 설치되는 상기 적색 발광 소자, 녹색 발광 소자 및 청색 발광 소자의 각각을 동일한 발광 개시 타이밍에서 발광시키고, 상기 화소에 설치되는 상기 적색 발광 소자, 상기 녹색 발광 소자 및 상기 청색 발광 소자의 각각을 동일한 비발광 개시 타이밍에서 비발광으로 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 14 항 내지 제 16 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 표시 화상의 휘도 비율에 대하여, 상기 발광 소자의 발광 휘도가 비선형으로 되도록 상기 발광 소자의 발광 시간을 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유기 EL 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 1 항에 기재된 유기 EL 장치를 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 전자 기기.
