도 2는 데이터 카운팅 방식을 이용한 열화 보상 방식의 문제점을 설명하기 위한 도면이다.

Claims (14)
- 복수의 화소로 이루어진 표시영역을 포함하는 표시패널;
상기 복수의 화소에 스캔신호 및 센싱신호를 공급하는 게이트 구동부;
상기 복수의 화소에 데이터신호를 공급하고, 상기 복수의 화소의 열화상태를 센싱하는 데이터 구동부;
상기 게이트 구동부와 상기 데이터 구동부를 드라이빙 모드 및 센싱 모드 중 어느 하나로 구동하는 타이밍 컨트롤러; 및
상기 각 화소에 대응한 입력 데이터의 카운팅을 통해 생성되는 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 상기 표시영역 중 적어도 하나의 열화영역을 검출하고, 상기 각 열화영역에 대응되는 수평라인들 중에서 임의로 선택된 어느 둘 이상의 수평라인에 포함되는 화소들의 열화상태에 대한 센싱 데이터 및 상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 열화 보상부를 포함하는 유기발광표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 열화 보상부는
상기 각 화소에 대응한 입력 데이터를 카운팅하여 각 화소의 누적 데이터를 생성하는 데이터 카운팅부;
상기 각 화소의 누적 데이터에 따라 각 화소의 열화상태를 예측하여, 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터를 생성하는 열화 예측부;
상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여, 상기 표시영역 중에서 적어도 하나의 열화영역을 검출하는 열화영역 검출부;
상기 각 열화영역에서 임의로 선택된 어느 둘 이상의 수평라인에 포함되는 화소들의 열화상태에 대한 센싱 데이터를 수신하는 센싱 제어부; 및
상기 센싱 데이터 및 상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여, 상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 제 1 보상 데이터 생성부를 포함하는 유기발광표시장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,
상기 열화영역 검출부는
상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여, 제 1 방향으로 나란하게 배열된 화소들로 각각 이루어진 복수의 수평라인 각각의 최대 스트레스 데이터를 검출하고, 상기 복수의 수평라인의 최대 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 열화 임계 데이터를 산출하며, 상기 복수의 수평라인 중에서 상기 열화 임계 데이터 이상의 최대 스트레스 데이터를 갖는 열화 수평라인을 검출하고, 상기 표시영역 중 상기 열화 수평라인을 포함하는 적어도 하나의 열화영역을 선택하는 유기발광표시장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 보상 데이터 생성부는
상기 센싱 데이터와 상기 센싱 데이터에 대응하는 화소의 스트레스 데이터 사이의 차이가 임계 이상이면, 상기 센싱 데이터 및 소정의 센싱 데이터 가중치에 기초하여, 상기 스트레스 데이터를 교정하는 유기발광표시장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 보상 데이터 생성부는
상기 스트레스 데이터와 상기 교정된 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 교정비율을 산출하고,
상기 교정비율에 기초하여 상기 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 스트레스 데이터를 교정하며,
상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 상기 교정된 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 유기발광표시장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 데이터 가중치는 누적구동시간에 기초하여 산출되는 유기발광표시장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,
상기 열화 보상부는 상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여, 상기 표시영역 중 열화영역을 제외한 나머지 영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 제 2 보상 데이터 생성부를 더 포함하는 유기발광표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 데이터 구동부는 상기 열화 보상부에 의한 보상 데이터에 따라 보상된 데이터신호를 상기 복수의 화소에 공급하는 유기발광표시장치.
- 표시영역에 배치된 복수의 화소를 포함하는 유기발광표시장치를 구동하는 방법에 있어서,
상기 복수의 화소 각각에 대응한 입력 데이터를 카운팅하여 각 화소의 누적 데이터를 생성하는 단계;
상기 각 화소의 누적 데이터에 따라 각 화소의 열화상태를 예측하여, 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터를 생성하는 단계;
상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여, 상기 표시영역 중에서 적어도 하나의 열화영역을 검출하는 단계;
상기 각 열화영역에서 임의로 선택된 둘 이상의 수평라인에 포함되는 화소들의 열화상태에 대한 센싱 데이터를 수신하는 단계; 및
상기 센싱 데이터 및 상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여, 상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 단계를 포함하는 유기발광표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,
상기 적어도 하나의 열화영역을 검출하는 단계는
상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 제 1 방향으로 나란하게 배열된 화소들로 각각 이루어진 복수의 수평라인 각각의 최대 스트레스 데이터를 검출하는 단계;
상기 복수의 수평라인의 최대 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 열화 임계 데이터를 산출하는 단계; 및
상기 복수의 수평라인 중 상기 열화 임계 데이터 이상의 최대 스트레스 데이터를 갖는 열화 수평라인을 검출하고, 상기 표시영역 중 상기 열화 수평라인을 포함하는 적어도 하나의 열화영역을 선택하는 단계를 포함하는 유기발광표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,
상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 단계는
상기 센싱 데이터와 상기 센싱 데이터에 대응하는 화소의 스트레스 데이터 사이의 차이가 임계 차이 이상이면, 상기 센싱 데이터 및 소정의 센싱 데이터 가중치에 기초하여 상기 스트레스 데이터를 교정하는 단계;
상기 스트레스 데이터와 상기 교정된 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 교정비율을 산출하는 단계;
상기 교정비율에 기초하여, 상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 스트레스 데이터를 교정하는 단계; 및
상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 상기 교정된 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 단계를 포함하는 유기발광표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 11 항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 데이터 가중치는 누적구동시간이 소정의 임계시간 이상이면, 상기 누적구동시간에 비례하여 산출되는 유기발광표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 11 항에 있어서,
상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 단계는 상기 센싱 데이터와 상기 센싱 데이터에 대응하는 화소의 스트레스 데이터 사이의 차이가 임계 차이 미만이면, 상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 상기 각 열화영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 단계를 포함하는 유기발광표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,
상기 각 화소의 스트레스 데이터에 기초하여 상기 표시영역 중 열화영역을 제외한 나머지 영역에 포함된 화소들의 보상 데이터를 생성하는 단계를 더 포함하는 유기발광표시장치의 구동방법.
