- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 슬릿은 2㎛ 내지 5㎛의 폭을 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 제2 슬릿은 8㎛ 내지 10㎛ 의 장변 폭을 갖고, 2㎛ 내지 5㎛의 단변 폭을 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 제2 슬릿은,
장변이 상기 편광 축과 수직인 수직 슬릿; 및
장변이 상기 편광 축과 수평인 수평 슬릿;을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치. - 제5 항에 있어서, 상기 수직 슬릿 및 상기 수평 슬릿은 서로 연결된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 제2 슬릿은 인접한 다른 도메인까지 연장된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 화소 전극은 중심에 요철부(bump)를 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제8 항에 있어서, 상기 요철부는 평면상에서 사각, 원형, 타원형, 및 마름모 형태 중 선택된 어느 하나인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제9 항에 있어서, 상기 요철부는 2㎛ 내지 5㎛의 폭을 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제9 항에 있어서, 상기 화소 전극 하부에 배치된 절연막을 더 포함하며, 상기 절연막은 상기 요철부와 평면상에서 실질적으로 동일한 형태의 볼록부 또는 오목부를 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 화소 전극은 도메인 사이의 경계에 요철부를 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제12 항에 있어서, 상기 요철부는 평면상에서 십자 형태인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제13 항에 있어서, 상기 요철부는 2㎛ 내지 5㎛의 폭을 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제13 항에 있어서, 상기 화소 전극 하부에 배치된 절연막을 더 포함하며, 상기 절연막은 상기 요철부와 평면상에서 실질적으로 동일한 형태의 볼록부 또는 오목부를 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서, 상기 대향 기판 상에 배치된 공통 전극을 더 포함하며, 상기 공통 전극은 슬릿을 갖지 않는 액정 표시 장치.
- 복수의 화소 영역에 배치된 화소 전극을 포함하는 표시 기판;
상기 표시 기판에 대향되어 배치된 대향 기판;
상기 표시 기판과 상기 대향 기판 사이에 배치된 액정층; 및
상기 표시 기판 및 상기 대향 기판 중 적어도 하나에 포함된 편광층을 포함하며,
상기 화소 전극은 복수의 도메인을 정의하기 위하여 가장자리를 따라 연장된 제1 슬릿을 포함하며,
상기 제1 슬릿은,
상기 화소 전극의 외곽의 가장자리를 따라 연장된 외측 슬릿; 및
상기 제1 슬릿과 분리되어 있고, 상기 외측 슬릿보다 상기 화소 전극의 상기 가장자리로부터 더 떨어져 있어 상기 외측 슬릿 내측에 배치된 적어도 하나 이상의 내측 슬릿;을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치. - 제17 항에 있어서, 상기 외측 슬릿 및 상기 내측 슬릿은 각 도메인 사이의 경계에서 분리된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제17 항에 있어서, 상기 외측 슬릿 및 상기 내측 슬릿은 2㎛ 내지 5㎛의 폭을 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제19 항에 있어서, 상기 외측 슬릿은 상기 내측 슬릿보다 큰 폭을 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제17 항에 있어서, 상기 외측 슬릿 및 상기 내측 슬릿은 2㎛ 내지 5㎛의 이격 거리를 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제17 항에 있어서, 실질적으로 사각 형태를 가지며, 장변이 상기 편광층의 편광 축과 0도 내지 90도의 각을 이루는 복수의 제2 슬릿들을 더 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제22 항에 있어서, 상기 복수의 제2 슬릿들 사이의 이격 거리는 상기 화소 전극의 중심에서 외곽 방향으로 갈수록 감소하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제17 항에 있어서, 상기 대향 기판 상에 배치된 공통 전극을 더 포함하며, 상기 공통 전극은 슬릿을 갖지 않는 액정 표시 장치.
