Claims (34)
- 전지 셀(battery cell)의 형성 방법으로서,
a) 집전체를 포함하는 애노드 영역을 형성하는 단계;
b) 이온 전도성 세퍼레이터를 형성하는 단계;
c) 집전체 및 전기 화학적 활성 물질을 포함하는 캐소드 영역을 형성하는 단계;
d) 제1 리튬 반응 생성물을 포함하는 제1 전해액(first liquid electrolyte)을 상기 캐소드 영역 내로 유동시키는 단계; 및
e) 셀에 충전 전류(charging current)를 인가하는 단계를 포함하고,
상기 제1 전해액은 상기 충전 전류가 인가되는 동안 상기 캐소드 영역 내로 연속적으로 유동하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법. - 제1항에 있어서, 상기 애노드 영역은 애노드액(anolyte)을 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 리튬 반응 생성물은 염화리튬(LiCl), 브롬화리튬(LiBr), 수산화리튬(LiOH) 또는 수산화리튬 일수화물(LiOH·H2O), 과산화리튬(Li2O2) 또는 산화리튬(Li2O)를 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 리튬 반응 생성물의 농도는 상기 충전 전류의 인가 동안 실질적으로 일정하게 유지되는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 전해액은 유기 전해질, 용융 전해질 및 수성 전해질로 이루어진 목록으로부터 선택된 물질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 제1 전해액은 유기 용매, 리튬 염 및 리튬 반응 생성물을 추가로 포함하는 유기 전해질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 제1 전해액은 질산염 또는 질산염-질산염 공융 혼합물, 리튬 염 및 리튬 반응 생성물을 추가로 포함하는 용융 전해질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 제1 전해액은 물 또는 알코올, 리튬 염 및 리튬 반응 생성물을 추가로 포함하는 수성 전해질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 제1 전해액은 충전 산화환원 커플(charging redox couple)을 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1 전해액을 제거하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 제1 전해액은 진공 건조에 의해 제거되는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 캐소드 영역에 제2 전해질을 첨가하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전해질은 상기 제1 전해액을 제거한 후에 첨가되는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전해질은 유기 전해질, 용융 전해질 및 수성 전해질로 이루어진 목록으로부터 선택된 물질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전해질은 유기 용매, 리튬 염 및 리튬 반응 생성물을 추가로 포함하는 유기 전해질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전해질은 질산염 또는 질산염-질산염 공융 혼합물, 리튬 염 및 리튬 반응 생성물을 추가로 포함하는 용융 전해질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전해질은 물 또는 알코올, 리튬 염 및 리튬 반응 생성물을 추가로 포함하는 수성 전해질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전해질은 충전 산화환원 커플을 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 애노드 영역은 리튬 인터칼레이션(intercalation) 물질을 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 애노드 영역은 초기에 산화 가능한 금속 없이 형성되는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 전지 셀의 형성 방법으로서,
a) 집전체, 리튬 인터칼레이션 물질 및 애노드액을 포함하는 애노드 영역을 형성하는 단계;
b) 이온 전도성 세퍼레이터를 형성하는 단계;
c) 집전체 및 전기 화학적 활성 물질을 포함하는 캐소드 영역을 형성하는 단계;
d) 상기 캐소드 영역에 제1 리튬 반응 생성물 및 제1 전해질을 첨가하는 단계;
e) 상기 캐소드와 애노드 사이에 충전 전류를 인가하는 단계; 및
f) 상기 전지 셀로부터 환원 부산물을 제거하는 단계를 포함하고,
상기 제1 리튬 반응 생성물 및 제1 전해질은 상기 충전 전류가 인가되는 동안 상기 캐소드 영역 내로 연속적으로 유동하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법. - 제22항에 있어서, 상기 제1 리튬 반응 생성물은 과산화리튬(Li2O2), 산화리튬(Li2O), 브롬화리튬(LiBr) 또는 염화리튬(LiCl)을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서, 상기 캐소드 영역에 제2 전해질을 첨가하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제24항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전해질은 고체 전해질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제24항에 있어서, 상기 제2 전해질은 중합체 전해질을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서, 상기 제1 리튬 반응 생성물 및 상기 제1 전해질을 상기 캐소드 영역에 첨가한 후에 상기 전지 셀을 밀봉하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제27항에 있어서, 상기 환원 부산물을 제거하기 전에 상기 전지 셀을 개봉(unsealing)하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제28항에 있어서, 상기 전지 셀을 개봉하는 단계는 밸브를 개방하는 것을 포함하는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서, 상기 애노드 영역이 초기에 산화 가능한 금속 없이 형성되는, 전지 셀의 형성 방법.
- 제1항의 방법에 의해 형성된 전지 셀로서,
상기 전지 셀 내의 리튬 금속의 양은 리튬 반응 생성물을 저장하기 위한 캐소드 영역의 용량의 100% 내지 125%인, 전지 셀. - 제31항에 있어서, 애노드 영역의 리튬 금속의 두께는 5 미크론 내지 100 미크론인, 전지 셀.
- 제22항의 방법에 의해 형성된 전지 셀로서,
상기 전지 셀 내의 리튬 금속의 양은 리튬 반응 생성물을 저장하기 위한 캐소드 영역의 용량의 100% 내지 125%인, 전지 셀. - 제33항에 있어서, 애노드 영역의 리튬 금속의 두께는 5 미크론 내지 100 미크론인, 전지 셀.
