- 상부기판과 하부기판 각각에 전극과 강유전성 액정층을 형성하는 단계와;상기 상부기판의 강유전성 액정층과 상기 하부기판의 강유전성 액정층 사이에 상기 상부기판 및 하부기판 각각의 강유전성 액정층에 의해 면내 스위칭이 유도되는 네마틱계 액정층을 형성하는 단계를 포함하고,상기 상부기판과 하부기판 각각에 전극과 강유전성 액정층을 형성하는 단계는,상기 강유전성 액정과 광중합성 모노모를 혼합하고 그 혼합물을 상기 상부기판과 하부기판 상에 도포하는 단계와,극성이 크거나 매우 낮은 상기 강유전성 액정을 노출시키는 방법, 상기 강유전성 액정에 전기장을 인가하는 방법 및 상기 강유전성 액정에 자기장을 인가하는 방법 중 어느 하나를 이용하여 상기 강유전성 액정의 자발분극 방향을 정렬시키는 단계와,상기 혼합물을 광에 노출시켜 상기 혼합물의 광중합을 유도하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치의 제조방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 상부기판과 상기 하부기판 각각에 배향막을 형성하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면내 스위칭 모드의 액정표시장치의 제조방법.
