Claims (5)
- 복수의 주사선과 복수의 데이터선의 교차에 대응하여 마련된 화소와, 저계조 표시 및 고계조 표시로의 응답과 비교해서 중간 계조 표시로의 응답 속도가 늦는 전기 광학 물질을 구비한 전기 광학 장치로서,상기 화소는 인접하는 2 이상의 서브 화소를 1세트로 하여 구성되고,상기 각 서브 화소는, 화소 전극과, 그 화소 전극에 대향하여 마련된 공통 전극과, 상기 주사선으로부터 공급되는 선택 전압에 따라, 상기 데이터선과 상기 화소 전극을 전기적으로 접속하는 스위칭 소자를 구비하며,상기 스위칭 소자는 각각 다른 주사선에 접속되고,외부로부터 공급된 화상 데이터의 계조값을 검출하는 계조값 검출 수단과,상기 계조값 검출 수단에 의해 검출된 계조값이 중간 계조로 간주할 수 있는 범위 내에 들어가 있는지 여부를 판단하는 판단 수단과,상기 판단 수단에 의한 판단 결과에 근거하여, 상기 복수의 주사선을 사전 결정된 순서로 선택하기 위한 상기 선택 전압을 생성해서, 상기 주사선에 공급하는 주사선 구동 회로와,상기 판단 수단에 의한 판단 결과에 근거하여, 상기 화상 데이터로부터 화상 신호를 생성하고, 생성한 상기 화상 신호를 상기 데이터선에 공급하는 데이터선 구동 회로를 구비하되,상기 판단 수단에서, 계조값이 중간 계조로 간주할 수 있는 범위 내에 들어가 있다고 판단된 경우에는,상기 주사선 구동 회로는, 1 수평 주사 기간 내에서, 상기 스위칭 소자에 접속되어 있는 상기 주사선을 순차적으로 선택하기 위한 선택 전압을 생성하고, 생성한 상기 선택 전압을 상기 주사선에 공급하며,상기 데이터선 구동 회로는, 각 화소 전체에서 중간 계조 표시가 행해지도록, 저계조 표시에 대응한 화상 신호와, 고계조 표시에 대응한 화상 신호를 생성하고, 생성한 각 화상 신호를 사전 결정된 타이밍에서 상기 데이터선에 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 광학 장치.
- 삭제
- 복수의 주사선과 복수의 데이터선의 교차에 대응하여 마련된 화소와, 저계조 표시 및 고계조 표시로의 변화에 요하는 응답에 비해서, 중간 계조 표시로의 응답이 늦는 전기 광학 물질을 구비하는 전기 광학 장치로서,각 화소는 좌우에 인접하는 제 1 서브 화소와 제 2 서브 화소를 1세트로 하여 각각 구성되며,상기 제 1 서브 화소는, 제 1 화소 전극과, 그 제 1 화소 전극에 대향하여 마련된 공통 전극과, 상기 주사선으로부터 공급되는 선택 전압에 따라, 상기 데이터선과 상기 제 1 화소 전극을 전기적으로 접속하는 제 1 스위칭 소자를 구비하고,상기 제 2 서브 화소는, 제 2 화소 전극과, 그 제 2 화소 전극에 대향하여 마련된 상기 공통 전극과, 상기 제 1 화소 전극과 상기 제 2 화소 전극에 접속되는 제 2 스위칭 소자와, 상기 공통 전극과 상기 제 2 화소 전극에 접속되는 제 3 스위칭 소자를 구비하며,상기 제 2 스위칭 소자와 상기 제 3 스위칭 소자에는 각각, 온 상태와 오프 상태로 전환 가능한 제어선이 공통적으로 접속되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 광학 장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,외부로부터 공급된 화상 데이터의 계조값을 검출하는 계조값 검출 수단과,상기 계조값 검출 수단에 의해 검출된 계조값이 중간 계조로 간주할 수 있는 범위 내에 들어가 있는지 여부를 판단하는 판단 수단과,상기 복수의 주사선을 사전 결정된 순서로 선택하기 위한 상기 선택 전압을 생성하여, 상기 주사선에 공급하는 주사선 구동 회로와,상기 판단 수단에 의한 판단 결과에 근거하여, 상기 화상 데이터로부터 화상 신호를 생성하고, 생성한 상기 화상 신호를 상기 데이터선에 공급하는 데이터선 구동 회로와,상기 판단 수단에서, 계조값이 중간 계조로 간주할 수 있는 범위 내에 들어가 있다고 판단된 경우에는, 1 수평 주사 기간 내에서, 상기 제 2 스위칭 소자를 오프 상태로 하고, 상기 제 3 스위칭 소자를 온 상태로 하며, 상기 판단 수단에서, 계조값이 중간 계조로 간주할 수 있는 범위 내에 들어가 있지 않다고 판단된 경우에는, 1 수평 주사 기간 내에서, 상기 제 2 스위칭 소자를 온 상태로 하고, 상기 제 3 스위칭 소자를 오프 상태로 하는 신호를 공급하는 전환 수단을 구비하되,상기 데이터선 구동 회로는, 상기 전환 수단에 의해 상기 제 2 스위칭 소자가 오프 상태이고, 또한, 상기 제 3 스위칭 소자가 온 상태인 경우, 상기 제 1 서브 화소 및 상기 제 2 서브 화소에 의해 구성되는 화소 전체에서, 중간 계조 표시가 행해지도록, 상기 데이터선을 거쳐서 상기 제 1 서브 화소와 상기 제 2 서브 화소 중 어느 한쪽에 저계조에 대응한 화상 신호를 공급함과 아울러, 다른쪽에 고계조에 대응한 화상 신호를 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기 광학 장치.
- 청구항 1, 3, 4 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 전기 광학 장치를 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 전자 기기.
