- 외측 케이싱(1)과, 컨버터 장치를 통해 배기 가스를 안내하기 위한 통로와, 배기 가스가 통로를 통해 안내될 때 상기 배기 가스를 정화하기 위한 적어도 하나의 배기 가스 정화 구성품(exhaust cleaning component)(7, 10, 25, 26, 29)을 포함하는, 연소 엔진용 배기 시스템에 배치되는 컨버터 장치에 있어서,컨버터 장치는 배기 가스 정화 구성품(7, 10, 25, 26, 29)을 포함하는 적어도 하나의 착탈가능한 분리가능 모듈(25, 26, 29)을 포함함으로써, 모듈은 적어도 2가지 크기로 제조되고, 다양한 크기의 모듈(25, 26, 29, 30)은 배기 가스 정화 구성품(7, 10, 25, 26, 29)을 통한 배기 가스의 방향에 수직인 평면(A)에서는 동일한 단면적을 나타내지만, 상기 평면(A)에 수직인 방향으로는 다른 크기를 나타내는 것을 특징으로 하는 컨버터 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,컨버터 장치는 케이싱(1)의 적어도 일부와 관형 몸체(4)를 포함하는 기본 모듈(24)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컨버터 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,다양한 크기의 모듈(25, 26)은 상기 평면(A)에서 관형 몸체(4)와 케이싱(1) 사이에서 반경 방향으로 연장된 표면에 대응하는 단면 프로파일을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 컨버터 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,다양한 크기의 모듈(29)은 상기 평면(A)에서 관형 몸체(A)의 내측면에 대응하는 단면 프로파일을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 컨버터 장치.

- 제6항에 있어서,모듈(25, 26, 29)의 제1 면이 정지면(27)에 접하게 되고 이어서 잠금 수단(28)이 모듈(25, 26, 29)의 제2 면에 배치되도록, 모듈(25, 26, 29)이 기본 모듈의 공간에서 이동가능하게 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 컨버터 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,모듈(30)은 배기 가스를 위한 나선형 유동 경로(13a, 13b)를 포함하는 소음 감쇠 구성품(28)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컨버터 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,소음 감쇠 구성품(28)은 관형 몸체(4)를 둘러싸는 내벽(31)과 케이싱(1)의 일부를 형성하는 외벽(32) 사이에서 반경방향 범위를 가지는 적어도 하나의 나선형 성형 영역(12a, 12b)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컨버터 장치.
