Claims (5)
- 수직으로 교차되어 화소 영역을 정의하는 복수개의 게이트 라인 및 데이터 라인과, 상기 화소 영역에 형성된 화소 전극과, 상기 각 게이트 라인의 상하 화소 영역에 교번하여 형성되는 복수개의 박막 트랜지스터와, 공통 전압을 인가하기 위해 동일 선상의 화소 영역에 형성된 각 박막 트랜지스터를 따라 각각 지그재그 형태로 형성되는 복수개의 공통 라인을 포함하여 이루어진 횡전계 방식 액정 표시 장치의 구동 방법에 있어서,첫 번째 게이트 라인에 인가된 주사 신호에 동기되어 1 수직 기간 동안의 주기로 짝수 번째 공통 라인들에 제 1 공통 전압 및 제 2 공통 전압을 교번적으로 인가하고, 홀수번째 공통 라인들에 제 2 공통 전압 및 제 1 공통 전압을 교번적으로 인가하고, 각 게이트 라인에 인가되는 게이트 로우 전압을 상기 화소 전극에 인가된 화소 전압보다 낮게 인가함을 특징으로 하는 횡전계 방식의 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
- 수직으로 교차되어 화소 영역을 정의하는 복수개의 게이트 라인 및 데이터 라인과, 상기 화소 영역에 형성된 화소 전극과, 상기 각 게이트 라인의 상하 화소 영역에 교번하여 형성되는 복수개의 박막 트랜지스터와, 공통 전압을 인가하기 위해 동일 선상의 화소 영역에 형성된 각 박막 트랜지스터를 따라 각각 지그재그 형태로 형성되는 복수개의 공통 라인을 포함하여 이루어진 횡전계 방식 액정 표시 장치의 구동 방법에 있어서,첫 번째 게이트 라인에 인가된 주사 신호에 동기되어 1 수직 기간 동안의 주기로 짝수 번째 공통 라인들에 제 1 공통 전압 및 제 2 공통 전압을 교번적으로 인가하고, 홀수번째 공통 라인들에 제 2 공통 전압 및 제 1 공통 전압을 교번적으로 인가하고, 각 게이트 라인에 인가되는 게이트 로우 전압을 상기 제 2 공통 전압이 제 1 공통 전압으로 변환될 때 상기 화소 전극에 인가된 화소 전압보다 낮게 인가함을 특징으로 하는 횡전계 방식의 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 짝수 번째 및 홀수 번째 공통 라인들 중 어느 한 공통 라인들에 인가된 제 1 공통 전압은 프레임 변환 시 제 2 공통 전압으로 레벨이 변환되고, 상기 짝수 번째 및 홀수 번째 공통 라인들 중 나머지 공통 라인들에 인가된 제 2 공통 전압은 프레임 변환 시 제 1 공통 전압으로 레벨이 변환됨을 특징으로 하는 횡전계 방식의 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,각 게이트 라인에 인가되는 게이트 로우 전압을 상기 제 2 공통 전압이 제 1 공통 전압으로 변환된 시점부터 다음 게이트 하이 전압까지의 구간에 상기 화소 전압보다 낮게 인가함을 특징으로 하는 횡전계 방식의 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 제 1 공통 전압은 정극성 공통 전압이고, 상기 제 2 공통 전압은 부극성 공통 전압인 것을 특징으로 하는 횡전계 방식의 액정표시장치의 구동 방법.
