Claims (22)
- 액정층을 사이에 두고, 제1 전극을 구비하는 제1 기판과 제2 전극을 구비하는 제2 기판이 대향 배치되어 구성되는 액정 표시 장치로서,1화소 영역 내에서 액정의 배향을 복수 영역으로 분할하기 위한 배향 제어부가, 각 화소 전극 형성 영역 내에 형성되어 있고,배향 제어부는, 적어도, 전극 부재부(不在部)와, 상기 액정층을 향하여 돌출되는 사면을 갖는 돌기부가, 상기 제1 기판측 또는 상기 제2 기판측의 적어도 한쪽에서 동일 위치에 중첩되어 형성된 영역을 가지며,상기 전극 부재부와 상기 돌기부가 중첩되어 형성된 영역에서의 배향 제어부는, 직선형상(라인형상)으로 형성되는 부분을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 액정층의 초기 배향은, 기판의 평면 방향에 대하여 수직 방향인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판측에 형성된 상기 제1 전극은, 복수 형성되며, 또한 화소마다 개별의 패턴을 갖고, 그 복수의 제1 전극에는 각각 스위치 소자가 접속되며, 상기 제2 기판측에 형성된 상기 제2 전극은, 각 화소 공통의 공통 전극으로서 형성되며,상기 배향 제어부는, 상기 화소 전극의 형성 영역 내, 또는 상기 공통 전극의 1화소 영역 내에 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판측에 형성된 상기 제1 전극은, 복수 형성되며, 화소마다 개별의 패턴을 갖고, 그 복수의 제1 전극에는 각각 스위치 소자가 접속되며,상기 제2 기판측에 형성된 상기 제2 전극은, 각 화소 공통의 공통 전극으로서 형성되고,상기 화소 전극은, 상기 제1 기판측에 매트릭스 형상으로 복수 형성되며,인접하는 화소 전극끼리의 사이에, 또한, 상기 전극 부재부와 상기 돌기부가 중첩 형성된 배향 제어부가 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판 중, 관찰측에 위치하는 기판과 대향하는 기판측에는, 관찰측으로부터 입사되는 광을 반사하는 반사층이 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 제1 전극 및 상기 제2 전극은 투명 전극이고,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판 중, 관찰측에 대한 배면측에 형성되는 광원으로부터의 광을 투과시켜 표시를 행하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 1화소 영역 내에는, 외광을 반사하는 반사 영역과, 광원광을 투과하는 투과 영역이 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판측에 형성된 상기 제1 전극은, 복수 형성되며, 화소마다 개별의 패턴을 갖고, 그 복수의 제1 전극에는 각각 스위치 소자가 접속되며,상기 제2 전극측에 형성된 상기 제2 전극은, 각 화소 공통의 공통 전극으로서 형성되고,상기 화소 전극은, 상기 제1 기판측에 매트릭스 형상으로 복수 형성되며,인접하는 화소 전극끼리의 사이에, 또한, 상기 전극 부재부만으로 이루어지는 배향 제어부가 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판 중, 관찰측에 위치하는 기판과 대향하는 기판측에는, 관찰측으로부터 입사되는 광을 반사하는 반사층이 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 제1 전극 및 상기 제2 전극은 투명 전극이고,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판 중, 관찰측에 대한 배면측에 형성되는 광원으로부터의 광을 투과시켜 표시를 행하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 1화소 영역 내에는, 외광을 반사하는 반사 영역과, 광원광을 투과하는 투과 영역이 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판 중, 관찰측에 위치하는 기판과 대향하는 기판측에는, 관찰측으로부터 입사되는 광을 반사하는 반사층이 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1 전극 및 상기 제2 전극은 투명 전극이고,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판 중, 관찰측에 대한 배면측에 형성되는 광원으로부터 광을 투과시켜 표시를 행하는 액정 표시 장치.

- 액정층을 사이에 두고, 제1 전극을 구비하는 제1 기판과 제2 전극을 구비하는 제2 기판이 대향 배치되어 구성되는 액정 표시 장치로서,1화소 영역 내에서 액정의 배향을 복수 영역으로 분할하기 위한 배향 제어부가, 각 화소 전극 형성 영역 내에 형성되어 있고,배향 제어부는, 적어도, 전극 부재부와, 상기 액정층을 향하여 돌출되는 사면을 갖는 돌기부가, 상기 제1 기판측 또는 제2 기판측의 적어도 한쪽에서 동일 위치에 중첩하여 형성된 영역을 갖고,상기 1화소 영역 내에는,상기 전극 부재부와 상기 돌기부의 중첩영역이 형성되는 기판과 다른 기판측에, 또한, 배향제어부로서 전극 부재부, 또는 전극 부재부와 돌기부의 중첩부를 갖고,상기 전극 부재부와 상기 돌기부가 중첩되어 형성된 영역에서의 배향 제어부는, 직선형상(라인형상)으로 형성되는 부분을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 액정층의 초기 배향은, 기판의 평면 방향에 대하여 수직 방향인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판측에 형성된 상기 제1 전극은, 복수 형성되며, 또한 화소마다 개별의 패턴을 갖고, 그 복수의 제1 전극에는 각각 스위치 소자가 접속되며,상기 제2 기판측에 형성된 상기 제2 전극은, 각 화소 공통의 공통 전극으로서 형성되고,상기 배향 제어부는, 상기 화소 전극의 형성 영역 내, 또는 상기 공통 전극의 1화소 영역 내에 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판측에 형성된 상기 제1 전극은, 복수 형성되며, 화소마다 개별의 패턴을 갖고, 그 복수의 제1 전극에는 각각 스위치 소자가 접속되며,상기 제2 기판측에 형성된 상기 제2 전극은, 각 화소 공통의 공통 전극으로서 형성되고,상기 화소 전극은, 상기 제1 기판측에 매트릭스 형상으로 복수 형성되며,인접하는 화소 전극끼리의 사이에, 또한 상기 전극 부재부와 상기 돌기부가 중첩 형성된 배향 제어부가 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판측에 형성된 상기 제1 전극은, 복수 형성되며, 화소마다 개별의 패턴을 갖고, 그 복수의 제1 전극에는 각각 스위치 소자가 접속되며,상기 제2 기판측에 형성된 상기 제2 전극은, 각 화소 공통의 공통 전극으로서 형성되고,상기 화소 전극은, 상기 제1 기판측에 매트릭스 형상으로 복수 형성되며,인접하는 화소 전극끼리의 사이에, 또한, 상기 전극 부재부만으로 이루어지는 배향 제어부가 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판 중, 관찰측에 위치하는 기판과 대향하는 기판측에는,관찰측으로부터 입사되는 광을 반사하는 반사층이 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 제1 전극 및 상기 제2 전극은 투명 전극이고,상기 제1 기판 또는 상기 제2 기판 중, 관찰측에 대한 배면측에 형성되는 광원으로부터의 광을 투과시켜 표시를 행하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 1화소 영역 내에는, 외광을 반사하는 반사 영역과, 광원광을 투과하는 투과 영역이 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 장치.
