Description
Claims (13)
- 서로 대향한 한쌍의 전극 간에 배치되며, 흐르는 전류량에 따라 광학 특성이 변화되는 광학층을 포함하는 표시 소자, 및 상기 표시 소자에 영상 신호에 따른 양의 전류를 공급하는 구동 회로를 각각 구비한 복수의 화소가 배열된 표시 화면과,상기 표시 화면의 표시 상태를 1 프레임 기간 내에 2회 이상 검출하는 표시 상태 검출 회로와,상기 구동 회로로부터 상기 표시 소자로의 전류 공급 시간을 상기 표시 상태 검출 회로로부터의 출력에 따라 변화시키며, 또한, 1 프레임 기간 내에 2회 이상 조광 제어를 행하는 조광 회로를 갖는 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 표시 소자는, 발광층을 포함한 유기물층을 갖는 유기 EL 소자인 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 표시 상태 검출 회로는, 상기 복수의 화소의 각 표시 소자에 흐르는 전류의 총전류값을 검출 전압으로 변환하여 출력하는 회로인 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 조광 회로는, 시간에 대하여 연속적으로 변화되며, 또한 소정 주기로 반복되는 주파수 신호와, 상기 표시 상태 검출 회로로부터의 출력 결과를 비교하여, 상기 전류 공급 기간을 제어하는 제어 펄스를 출력하는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 주파수 신호의 주기는, 1/2 수직 주기 이내로 설정되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 표시 장치는, 상기 한쌍의 전극의 각각에 소정의 전위를 공급하는 한쌍의 전원 단자와, 상기 표시 소자와 상기 한쌍의 전원 단자의 한쪽 사이에 접속되는 스위치를 포함하며, 상기 조광 회로로부터 출력되는 제어 펄스는 상기 스위치의 제어 전극에 공급되는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 스위치는, 상기 복수의 화소의 각각에 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 복수의 화소는, 각각이, 입력되는 영상 신호에 따른 구동 전류를 출력하는 구동용 트랜지스터를 포함하며, 상기 스위치는, 이 구동용 트랜지스터의 드레인과 상기 표시 소자 사이에 직렬 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 스위치는, 상기 복수의 화소에 공통으로 설치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제9항에 있어서,상기 스위치는, 상기 화소와 상기 전원 단자 사이에 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 한쌍의 전극의 한쪽은 각 화소 공통으로 연속하여 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,조광 회로는, 상기 총전류값이 커졌을 때에는, 상기 복수의 표시 소자의 도 통 기간이 짧아지며, 상기 총전류값이 작아졌을 때에는, 상기 복수의 표시 소자의 도통 기간이 길어지도록, 상기 제어 펄스의 펄스 듀티를 가변하는 것을 특징으로 하는 표시 장치.
- 서로 대향한 한쌍의 전극 간에 배치되며, 흐르는 전류량에 따라 광학 특성이 변화되는 광학층을 포함하는 표시 소자, 및 상기 표시 소자에 영상 신호에 따른 양의 전류를 공급하는 구동 회로를 각각 구비한 복수의 화소가 배열된 표시 화면을 갖는 표시 장치의 제어 방법으로서,상기 표시 화면의 표시 상태를 1 프레임 기간 내에 2회 이상 검출하는 단계와,상기 구동 회로로부터 상기 표시 소자로의 전류 공급 시간을 상기 표시 상태 검출 회로로부터의 출력에 따라 변화시키고, 또한, 1 프레임 기간 내에 2회 이상 조광 제어를 행하는 단계를 포함하는 표시 장치의 제어 방법.
