Claims (15)
- 희토류 원소인 제1 원소가 도핑된 클래딩; 및비선형 라만 현상을 유도하기 위하여 제2 원소가 포함된 코어를 구비하며,상기 코어를 통해서 펌프 광이 진행하면 상기 클래딩의 상기 제1 원소에 의해 제1 밴드 광신호가 증폭되고, 상기 제2 원소에 의해 제2 밴드 광신호가 라만 증폭되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 제1 밴드와 제2 밴드는 서로 동일한 대역인 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 제1 밴드와 제2 밴드는 서로 다른 대역인 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 제1 원소는 적어도 상기 코어에 인접한 영역에 도핑된 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광섬유의 조성물은 실리카, 텔루라이트, 플로라이드, 황화물계 또는 셀레나이드계인 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제1 원소는 어븀, 이터븀, 프라세오디뮴, 니오디뮴, 홀뮴, 툴륨 또는 디스프로슘이고, 상기 제2 원소는 유리조성을 만드는 실리콘, 게르마늄, 인, 황, 텔루륨 또는 셀레늄인 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광섬유의 조성물이 실리카인 경우, 펌핑 파장은 1480~1500 nm 대역의 단일파장이고, 광섬유의 클래딩에 도핑된 어븀에 의해 C-밴드(1530~1570 nm) 광신호가, 코어에 도핑된 게르마늄에 의한 비선형 라만 증폭으로 L-밴드(1570~1610 nm) 광신호가 각각 증폭하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 어븀은 상기 클래딩에 1015 cm-3 ~ 1017 cm-3로 도핑되어 있고, 상기 게르마늄은 상기 코어에 10 ~30 mol %로 도핑되어 코어와 클래딩의 굴절률 차이는 0.015 ~ 0.03 인 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광섬유의 길이는 1 내지 10 km 인 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광섬유의 조성물이 텔루라이트인 경우, 상기 소정의 펌핑 파장은 1470~1500 nm 대역의 단일 파장이고, 클래딩의 어븀에 의한 광증폭으로 L-밴드(1570~1610 nm) 신호를, 코어 내의 텔루라이트에 의한 비선형 라만 증폭으로 U-밴드(1610~1700 nm)를 각각 증폭하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 희토류 원소인 제1 원소가 코어에 첨가된 광섬유와 비선형 라만 증폭을 유발하기 위해 제2 원소가 코어에 첨가된 광섬유를 각각 적어도 하나씩 포함하여 직렬 조합으로 연결하되,상기 조합된 광섬유를 통해서 소정 파장의 펌프 광이 진행하면 상기 제1 원소가 포함된 광섬유에 의해 제1 밴드 광신호가 증폭되고, 상기 제2 원소가 포함된 광섬유에 의해 제2 밴드 광신호가 라만 증폭되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 제 11 항에 있어서,상기 제1 원소는 어븀이 1015 cm-3 ~ 1017 cm-3로 도핑되고,상기 제2 원소는 게르마늄(Ge)이 10~30 mol %로 되핑되며,제1 원소인 어븀이 코어에 도핑된 광섬유로부터 C-밴드 광신호가 증폭되고, 제2 원소인 게르마늄(Ge)이 코어에 도핑된 광섬유로부터 L-밴드 광신호가 라만 증폭되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유.
- 입력 단으로부터 광신호를 입력받아 증폭하여 출력단으로 전달하는 제 1 항 내지 제 11 항 중 어느 하나의 항에 의한 광섬유;상기 광섬유에 펌핑광을 출력하기 위한 적어도 하나의 광원; 및상기 광신호와 상기 광원으로부터 출력되는 상기 펌핑광을 결합하기 위한 적어도 하나의 결합기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유 증폭기.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 광원과 상기 결합기는 상기 입력단과 상기 출력단에 각각 하나씩 존재하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유 증폭기.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,상기 입력단의 결합기의 전단에는 입력단으로부터 입력되는 광신호를 그대로 통과시키며 그 역방향으로 입력되는 광을 차단하는 제 1 아이솔레이터를 더 포함하고,상기 출력단의 결합기의 후단에는 출력되는 광신호를 그대로 통과시키며 그 역방향으로 입력되는 광을 차단하는 제 2 아이솔레이터를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광섬유 증폭기.
