Claims (8)
- 액정을 협지함과 함께 그 액정의 액정 분자를 표면과 대략 수직으로 배향시키는 2매의 기판이 마련된 액정 셀과, 그 액정 셀의 양측에 배치되고, 각각의 흡수축이 상호 직교하도록 배치된 2매의 편광판과,상기 양 편광판의 한쪽 및 액정 셀 사이에 배치되고, 플러스의 1축 이방성을 갖는 제1 위상차 필름과,상기 양 편광판의 다른 쪽 및 상기 액정 셀 사이에 배치되고, 마이너스의 1축 이방성을 갖는 제2 위상차 필름을 구비하고,상기 양 편광판에는, 광축이 상기 기판과 대략 수직으로 되도록 배치되고, 마이너스의 1축 이방성을 갖는 기재 필름이 마련되고, 상기 제1 위상차 필름의 지상축은, 상기 액정에서 보아 동일 측의 상기 편광판의 흡수축과 직교하도록 배치되고, 상기 제2 위상차 필름의 광축이 상기 기판과 대략 수직으로 되도록 배치되어 있는 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 제1 위상차 필름의 면내 방향의 리타데이션을 Rp〔nm〕, 상기 제2 위상차 필름의 두께 방향의 리타데이션을 Rn〔nm〕, 상기 기재 필름의 두께 방향의 리타데이션을 Rtac〔nm〕, 상기 액정의 두께 방향의 리타데이션을 Rlc〔nm〕로 하고,상기 Rp에 관한 파라미터 α〔nm〕를, α=135-0.7×Rtac,상기 Rn에 관한 파라미터 β〔nm〕를, β=Rlc-65-1.4×Rtac로 할 때,상기 리타데이션 Rp는 상기 α의 80% 이상이고 120% 이하로 설정되어 있음과 함께, 상기 리타데이션 Rn은 상기 β의 60% 이상이고 90% 이하로 설정되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 리타데이션 Rp가 상기 α의 90% 이상이고 110% 이하로 설정되어 있음과 함께, 상기 리타데이션 Rn이 상기 β의 65% 이상이고 85% 이하로 설정되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 액정은, 마이너스의 유전 이방성을 갖고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 액정 셀은 멀티 도메인 배향의 액정 셀인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 액정을 협지함과 함께 그 액정의 액정 분자를 표면과 대략 수직으로 배향시키는 2매의 기판이 마련된 액정 셀과,그 액정 셀의 양측에 배치되고, 각각의 흡수축이 상호 직교하도록 배치된 2매의 편광판과,상기 양 편광판의 한쪽 및 액정 셀 사이에 배치되고, 플러스의 1축 이방성을 갖는 제1 위상차 필름과,상기 제1 위상차 필름 및 상기 액정 셀 사이에 배치되고, 마이너스의 1축 이방성을 갖는 제2 위상차 필름을 구비하고,상기 양 편광판에는, 광축이 상기 기판과 대략 수직으로 되도록 배치되고, 마이너스의 1축 이방성을 갖는 기재 필름이 마련되고, 상기 제1 위상차 필름의 지상축은, 상기 액정에서 보아 동일 측의 상기 편광판의 흡수축과 직교하도록 배치되고, 상기 제2 위상차 필름의 광축이 상기 기판과 대략 수직으로 되도록 배치되어 있는 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 제1 위상차 필름의 면내 방향의 리타데이션을 Rp〔nm〕, 상기 제2 위상차 필름의 두께 방향의 리타데이션을 Rn〔nm〕, 상기 기재 필름의 두께 방향의 리타데이션을 Rtac〔nm〕, 상기 액정의 두께 방향의 리타데이션을 Rlc〔nm〕로 하고,상기 Rp에 관한 파라미터 α〔nm〕를, α=135-0.7×Rtac상기 Rn에 관한 파라미터 β〔nm〕를, β=Rlc-65-1.4×Rtac로 할 때,상기 리타데이션 Rp는 상기 α의 80% 이상이고 120% 이하로 설정되어 있음과 함께, 상기 리타데이션 Rn은 상기 β의 60% 이상이고 90% 이하로 설정되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
