Claims (12)
- 외부로부터 입력되는 화상 신호를 처리하여 화상 정보를 가진 데이터 신호와 타이밍 신호를 만드는 단계,상기 액정 패널에 인가될 계조 전압과 게이트 전압을 만드는 단계,상기 데이터 신호, 계조 전압 및 타이밍 신호로 계단 파형의 데이터 구동 전압을 만드는 단계,상기 타이밍 신호와 게이트 전압으로 구형파로 된 게이트 구동 신호를 만드는 단계,상기 데이터 구동 전압을 상기 각 화소에 연결된 박막 트랜지스터의 소스 전극에 인가하는 단계 및상기 게이트 구동 신호를 상기 박막 트랜지스터의 게이트 전극에 인가하여 상기 데이터 구동 전압이 상기 화소 전극에 충전되도록 하는 단계를 포함하는액정 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제1항에서,상기 데이터 구동 전압은 상기 화소 전극에 대향하는 공통 전극 전압보다 높은 경우에만 계단 파형이 되도록 만드는액정 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제1항에서,상기 데이터 구동 전압을 형성하는 다수의 계단 파형 중에서 최종 시점의 계단 파형의 전압 레벨을 상기 화소가 표시해야 할 전압 레벨로 만드는액정 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제3항에서,상기 데이터 구동 전압을 형성하는 다수의 계단 파형은 2개의 전압 레벨을 가지는 2계단 파형으로 만드는액정 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제4항에서,상기 2계단 파형의 데이터 구동 전압은전단의 계단 파형 전압 레벨이 후단의 계단 파형 전압 레벨보다 높은 레벨을 가지도록 만드는액정 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제5항에서,상기 2계단 파형의 데이터 구동 전압은후단의 계단 파형의 폭이 5 ㎲ 이상이 되도록 만드는액정 표시 장치의 구동 방법.
- 화상을 표시하는 액정 패널,외부에서 화상 신호와 동기 신호를 입력받아 다수의 타이밍 신호와 상기 액정 패널 상의 각 화소 전극에 인가되는 데이터 신호를 발생시키는 타이밍 제어기,외부에서 전원을 입력받아 다수의 아날로그 전압을 발생하는 전원 공급기,상기 타이밍 제어기로부터 타이밍 신호와 상기 전원 공급기로부터 아날로그 전압을 입력받아 상기 각 화소 전극에 상기 데이터 신호가 인가되는 것을 제어하는 게이트 구동 소자,상기 타이밍 제어기로부터 타이밍 신호 및 데이터 신호를 입력받고, 상기 전원 공급기로부터 아날로그 전압을 입력받아, 두 개 이상의 계단 파형으로 된 데이터 구동 전압을 상기 각 화소 전극에 인가하는 데이터 구동 소자를 포함하는액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에서,상기 데이터 구동 전압은 상기 화소 전극에 대향하는 공통 전극 전압보다 높은 경우에만 계단 파형으로 되는액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에서,상기 데이터 구동 전압을 형성하는 다수의 계단 파형 중에서 최종 시점의 계단 파형의 전압 레벨이 상기 화소가 표시해야 할 전압 레벨로 되는액정 표시 장치.
- 제9항에서,상기 데이터 구동 전압을 형성하는 다수의 계단 파형은 2개의 전압 레벨을 가지는 2계단 파형인액정 표시 장치.
- 제10항에서,상기 2계단 파형 데이터 구동 전압은전단의 계단 파형 전압 레벨이 후단의 계단 파형 전압 레벨보다 높은 레벨을 가지는액정 표시 장치.
- 제11항에서,상기 2개의 계단 파형 데이터 구동 전압은후단의 계단 파형의 폭이 5 ㎲ 이상인액정 표시 장치.
