- 진구도가 0.6이상인 거의 구형을 이루고 있고 방전공간을 둘러싸는 포위부 및 포위부의 끝단부에 연이어 통하여 배치되어 포위부보다 내직경이 작은 오목부를 구비한 투광성 방전용기, 투광성 방전용기의 오목부의 내면과의 사이에 조그만 간극을 형성하면서 오목부내에 끼워 넣어져 있는 동시에 선단이 투광성 방전용기의 포위부내에 돌출 하고 있는 가늘고 긴 전극, 선단이 전극의 기단부에 접속되어 적어도 중간부가 투광성 방전용기에 봉착되고 기단이 투광성 방전용기로부터 외부로 노출한 도입도체, 및 적어도 네온 및 아르곤을 포함하여 투광성 방전용기내에 봉입된 방전매체를 구비하며, 글로-아크 전이시간 0.5초∼3초의 범위에 있도록 구성되어 있는 고압방전램프와;2차 개방전압으로부터 2차 단락전류까지 연속적인 부하특성을 구비하며, 고압방전램프의 방전개시전압(Vs)에 대한 2차 개방전압(V20)의 비율, V20/Vs(%)의 값을 110∼300(%)으로 하는 고압방전램프를 고주파로 점등하는 점등회로수단을 구비하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 고압방전램프점등장치.
