- 주사전극을 설치한 제 1 기판과, 데이터전극을 설치한 제 2 기판을, 상기 주사전극과 데이터전극을 대향시키도록 소정의 간격을 두어 배치하고, 그 제 1 기판과 제 2 기판과의 사이에 액정층을 봉입하여 이루어지는 액정셀을 구비하며,이 액정셀의 제 2 기판을 눈에 보이는 측에 배치하고, 상기 제 1 기판과 제 2 기판의 각각 액정층과 접하는 면과 반대면측에 편광판을 배치하며,상기 제 1 기판측에 배치하는 편광판은 반사형 편광판이며, 이 반사형 편광판의 상기 제 1 기판측면과 반대측에 보조광원을 설치하고, 해당 반사형 편광판과 보조광원과의 사이에 일부의 빛을 투과하는 광흡수층을 설치하는 동시에,상기 보조광원이 점등했을 때와 점등하지 않았을 때에, 상기 액정층에 인가하는 전압을 달리하는 수단을 설치한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 보조광원이 점등했을 때와 점등하지 않았을 때에, 상기 액정층에 인가하는 전압을 달리하는 수단이, 상기 액정층에 인가하는 단계조절신호를 반전시키는 회로인 액정표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 반사형 편광판과 상기 광흡수층과의 사이에, 광산란성을 가진 산란판을 설치한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 산란판이 상기 반사형 편광판에 접착하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 산란판이 표면에 요철이 형성되거나 플라스틱중에 굴절율이 다른 비즈가 분산되어 있는 플라스틱판이며, 상기 반사형 편광판의 이면에 점착제에 의해 눌러 붙여져 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 산란판과 상기 광흡수층과의 사이에 틈을 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 광흡수층은 투과율이 큰 개구부와 투과율이 작은 흡수부를 가지는 인쇄층으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 광흡수층은 화소부에 있어서 복수의 개구부 혹은 투과성을 가지는 부분을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 9 항에 있어서, 상기 개구부를 가진 광흡수층은 상기 개구부와 상기 흡수부가 규칙적으로 배열된 격자형상을 이루며, 이 흡수부를 이루는 인쇄층은 외부광의 입사각이 커지면 그 막두께에 의해 외부광을 흡수하는 두꺼운 막으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 주사전극을 설치한 제 1 기판과, 데이터전극을 설치한 제 2 기판을 상기 주사전극과 데이터전극을 대향시키도록 소정의 간격을 두어 배치하고, 그 제 1 기판과 제 2 기판과의 사이에 액정층을 봉입하여 이루어지는 액정셀을 구비하며,이 액정셀의 제 2 기판을 눈에 보이는 측에 배치하고,이 제 2 기판의 액정층과 접하는 면과 반대면측에 흡수형 편광판을 상기 제 1 기판의 액정층과 접하는 면과 반대면측에 콜레스테릭액정폴리머필름을 각각 배치하며,이 콜레스테릭액정폴리머필름의 상기 제 1 기판측면과 반대면측에 일부 빛을 투과하는 광흡수층을 통하여 보조광원을 배치하고 있으며,상기 보조광원이 점등했을 때와 점등하지 않았을 때에는, 상기 액정층에 인가하는 전압을 달리하는 수단을 설치한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서, 상기 보조광원이 점등했을 때와 점등하지 않았을 때에는 상기 액정층에 인가하는 전압을 달리하는 수단이, 상기 액정층에 인가하는 단계조절신호를 반전시키는 회로인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서, 상기 제 2 기판과 상기 흡수형 편광판과의 사이에 위상차판을, 상기 제 1 기판과 상기 콜레스테릭액정폴리머필름과의 사이에 1/4λ판을 각각 배치한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서, 상기 광흡수층은 전체가 일부 빛을 투과하도록 투명성을 가진 인쇄층인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 주사전극을 설치한 제 1 기판과, 데이터전극을 설치한 제 2 기판을, 상기 주사전극과 데이터전극을 대향시키도록 소정의 간격을 두어 배치하고, 그 제 1 기판과 제 2 기판과의 사이에 액정층을 봉입하고, 이 제 1 기판 또는 제 2 기판상에 제 1 칼라필터를 설치한 액정표시패널을 구비하고,이 액정셀의 제 2 기판을 눈에 보이는 측에 배치하고,이 제 2 기판의 액정층과 접하는 면과 반대면측에 흡수형 편광판을, 상기 제 1 기판의 액정층과 접하는 면과 반대면측에 반사형 편광판을 각각 배치하며,이 반사형 편광판의 상기 제 1 기판측면과 반대면측에, 제 2 칼라필터를 통하여 보조광원을 배치하고 있으며,상기 보조광원이 점등했을 때와 점등하지 않았을 때에, 상기 액정층에 인가하는 전압을 달리하는 수단을 설치한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 16 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 기판과 상기 제 2 칼라필터와의 사이에 광산란성을 가진 산란판을 설치한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 17 항에 있어서, 상기 산란판이 표면에 요철이 형성되거나 플라스틱중에 굴절율이 다른 비즈가 분산하고 있는 플라스틱판인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 17 항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 칼라필터 및 제 2 칼라필터는 각각 빨강, 초록, 파랑의 각 칼라필터로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 19 항에 있어서, 제 1 칼라필터와 제 2 칼라필터는 상기 제 1 기판의 한쪽 면측과 다른 쪽 면측에 각각 설치하고, 이 제 1 기판을 통하여 거의 동일한 면적으로 동일한 색의 칼라필터가 서로 겹치도록 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 16 항에 기재된 액정표시장치에 있어서, 외부환경의 밝기에 따라 중간조의 표시의 밝기를 변화시키도록 상기 액정층에 인가하는 전압을 제어하는 수단을 설치한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
