Abstract
Description
Claims (14)
- 그중 적어도 하나가 투명한 한쌍의 전극기판, 고분자영역에 의해 둘러싸인 액정영역을 갖는 표시매체 및 복수의 화소를 포함하고, 상기 표시매체는 상기 한쌍의 기판사이에 개재되어 있는 액정표시소자에 있어서, 상기 액정영역을 구성하는 액정 조성물의 액정상과 등방성 액체상간의 상전이온도의 상한치와 하한치간의 차가 7.0이상인 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 고분자영역을 구성하는 고분자는 50.0이상의 유리전이온도를 갖는 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정조성물은, 네마틱상 또는 키랄 네마틱상과 등방성 액체상간의 상전이온도가 70.0이상인 네마틱상 또는 키랄 네마틱상을 갖는 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정영역은 적어도 하나의 액정도메인으로 구성되는 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정영역내에 액정분자가 축대칭상으로 배향되어 있는 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정영역은 화소의 각각에 대응하는 적어도 하나의 액정도메인으로 구성되는 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 한쌍의 전극기판의 적어도 일방의 표시매체측 표면의 상기 액정영역에 대응하는 부분의 거의 중앙부에, 요부(凹部)와 철부(凸部)중 적어도 하나가 형성되어 있는 액정표시소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 한쌍의 전극기판의 적어도 일방의 표시매체와 반대측 표면에 편광판이 제공되어 있는 액정표시소자.
- 그중 적어도 일방이 투명한 한쌍의 전극기판간에, 액정상과 등방성 액체상간의 상전이 온도의 상한치와 하한치간의 차가 7.0이상인 액정조성물과, 중합성재료를 포함하는 혼합물을 충전하는 공정; 및 상기 중합성재료를 중합함으로써 상기 혼합물을 상분리시켜, 고분자영역과 이 고분자영역에 의해 둘러싸인 액정영역을 형성하는 공정을 포함하는 액정표시소자의 제조방법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 중합성재료는 관능성 모노머를 10중량%이상 포함하고, 상기 고분자영역을 구성하는 고분자의 유리전이온도가 50.0이상인 액정표시소자의 제조방법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 상분리공정은, 상기 혼합물이 균일한 등방성 액체상을 나타내는 온도까지 상기 혼합물을 가열하는 공정, 상기 혼합물을 냉각하여 상분리시키는 공정, 및 중합성재료를 중합하여 소정의 위치에 액정영역과 고분자영역을 형성하는 공정을 더 포함하는 액정표시소자의 제조방법.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 가열 및 냉각공정이 복수회 반복되는 액정표시소자의 제조방법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 상분리 공정은, 상기 혼합물이 균일한 등방성 액체상을 나타내는 온도에서 상기 중합성 재료를 중합하는 공정, 및 상기 혼합물을 냉각하여 소정의 위치에 액정영역과 고분자영역을 형성하는 공정을 포함하는 액정표시소자의 제조방법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 상분리 공정이 상기 한쌍의 기판간에 전압과 자장중 적어도 하나를 인가하는 공정을 더 포함하는 액정표시소자의 제조방법.
