Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the process of production by forming sealants for a liquid crystal cell to double sealants, providing an aperture to the inside sealant and injecting the liquid crystal of the volume larger than the volume of the cell formed of the inner sealant and both substrates and smaller than the volume of the cell formed of the outer sealant and both the substrates into the cell. CONSTITUTION:The double sealants having the sealant provided with at least one aperture 4 on the inner side are provided on at least one substrate of two sheets of the substrates 1a, 1b forming the liquid crystal element and the liquid crystal 7 of the volume larger than the volume of the cell enclosed of the inner sealant 3 and two sheets of the substrates 1a, 1b and smaller than the volume of the cell enclosed of the outer sealant and two sheets of the substrates 1a, 1b is dropped onto the substrate; thereafter, the other substrate 1b is pressed thereto and both the substrates 1a, 1b are joined. The liquid crystal 7 excessive from the volume of the cell flows into the space between the inside and outside sealants 3 and 2 and the part inner than the cell 3 is completely packed by the liquid crystal 7. A uniform liquid crystal layer is, therefore, formed within the actual display region if the actual display region is provided to the side inner than the inner sealant. The liquid crystal display element having the uniform liquid crystal layer is thereby easily obtd. in a short period of time.
