CONSTITUTION:A couple of glass substrates 1 and 2 provided with transparent electrodes 3 and then oriented are combined together with a step, and one part of a sealing material 4 on the substrate 2 is exposed out of the substrate 1 and provided with an opening 8 for liquid crystal injection. Into the cell consisting of the substrates 1 and 2, sealing material 4 and an upper-lower conduction member 6, a liquid crystal material 5 is injected through the opening 8, which is sealed tightly. Consequently, the liquid crystal material can be injected by a dripping method with the liquid crystal display element placed horizontally, and according to the size of the step, the amount of liquid crystal for single dripping is controlled.
