Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled form outstanding in characteristics in critical electric current density, with high reliability, by forming a composition prepared by formulating a rare earth element, alkaline earth metal element, copper and silver in specified proportion followed by calcination and then, if needed, incorporation of a member made of silver. CONSTITUTION:If needed, a member made of silver (e.g. medium ceramic form) or another member made of silver (e.g. hollow pipe) is peripherally coated with or packed with, respectively, a blend of a rare earth metal oxide (e.g. Y2O3), alkaline earth metal carbonate (e.g. BaCO3), copper and 0.3-20wt.% of silver followed by calcination in the atmosphere, thus obtaining the objective ceramic superconducting form of formula (L is rare earth metal element; M is alkaline earth metal element; x, y and z are each positive number, p is positive decimal) to be made superconducting at temperatures of <=90 deg.K.
