Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having uniform texture and stable critical temperature and useful as a superconductive magnet, etc., by heating and sintering a powdery mixture of an oxide of a specific element and an oxide of copper in an atmosphere having ultra-high oxygen partial pressure. CONSTITUTION:A molded material 2 is produced from a powdery mixture of a copper oxide and an oxide of one or more elements selected from the group IIIa element of the periodic table, lanthanoid element and actinoid element or from powder of a compound oxide of the above element and copper. The molded material 2 is put into a platinum capsule 1 and, as necessary, topped with MnO2 powder 3 and a high-pressure phase BN powder 4. The capsule is sintered by heating at >=400 deg.C under ultra-high pressure atmosphere having an oxygen partial pressure of 1-100 Kb to obtain a superconducting material consisting of a sintered compound oxide of formula I (A is one or more elements selected from the group IIIa element of the periodic table, lanthanoid element and actinoid element; x, y and z are numbers satisfying the formulas II, III and IV, respectively).
