Abstract
PURPOSE:To smoothly run a vehicle in a prescribed path by deriving a state of the present running path and the remaining running distance, and a direction and an angle of the next running path, determining a target running position of the present running path and a rough instruction car speed in accordance with these information, and determining a target vehicle speed and a target steering quantity, based on said target running position and instruction car speed. CONSTITUTION:The titled controller is provided with a running information calculating means 1, a target running position determining means 3, an instruction vehicle speed determining means 5, and a running control means 7 for determining a target vehicle speed and a target steering quantity to the present running path, based on the second position of a vehicle, a target running position and an instruction vehicle speed, which are calculated against the present running path. That is, a state of the present running path, the remaining running distance and a direction and an angle of the next running path are derived, and in accordance with these information, a target running position of the present running path and a rough instruction vehicle speed are determined, and based on said target running position and instruction vehicle speed, a target vehicle speed and a target steering quantity are determined, and a running control of the vehicle is executed. In such a way, running in each path and between each path can be executed smoothly.
