Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a color printing with a desired color tone without being affected by an environmental temperature and the characteristics of a recording paper, by providing electric power adjusting means corresponding to a plurality of colors in number and adjusting an electric power applied to a thermal head from a thermal head drive means; and a change-over means selectively connecting the power adjusting means to the thermal head. CONSTITUTION:Four variable resistors 31-34 are disposed corresponding to four colors of an ink sheet 19, i.e. Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, and Black. Switches 35-38 as a change-over means are respectively provided in the variable resistors 31-34. The switches 35-38 conduct a change-over action according to an instruction from a control part. The control part detects which color of a plurality of colors of the ink sheet 19 is opposed to a thermal head 13 and issues the instruction according to the detection result. Therefore, if the respective variable resistors 31-34 are adjusted so as to compensate the effect of an environmental temperature etc., for every color, a color printing of a required color tone without being affected by an environmental temperature is made available.
