Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer type color recorder of simple construction which is capable of recording multi-color images by the adoption of such a construction wherein a thermal transfer ink ribbon divided into thin strips of multicolors is arranged so as to oppose to many heat generating elements which are selectively driven accoding to desired color strips. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ink ribbon 5 of which width is the same as that of a web of recording paper 1 is divided into plural color bands 5m, 5y, 5c in the direction of paper feeding, and many heat generating elements 11a are arranged to oppose to those color bands for substantially covering the width of paper. Each of color bands 5m, 5y, 5c is arranged to oppose to each of heat generating elements 11a in sequence, and the heat generating elements 11a are selectively driving according to the color hue data of those opposing color bands. EFFECT:Color images of good quality can be recorded in a short time.
