Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit constitution by stopping tentatively the processing of each stage after that stage if an exemption processing takes place and devising each stage to execute the exemption processing thereby eliminating the need for a control circuit. CONSTITUTION:When an exception takes place during the processing execution in stages 1-5 while pipeline processing is being executed, a processing section 10 gives information of exemption processing to an error code generating circuit 12. Then the circuit 12 generates an error code and is latched to an output latch 11 to include the error code in a step code 6. In this case, the processing section 10 prevents an output of an input latch idle signal 7 from the input latch 9, then no further processing is applied in the stage. Moreover, when the error code is sent to each stage from the preceding stage, the succeeding processing is not applied in the stage. When an error code is given in the stage 5, the control signal 13 to execute the exemption processing is outputted to the stages 1-4.
