Abstract

PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a cable to be connected to a TV camera up to its breaking by the turning operation of a turntable by forming the cable in a spiral shape and extending it round into the hollow rotary shaft of the turntable. CONSTITUTION:When a motor 7 is driven, the rotary shaft 6 is rotated through gears 8a and 8b and the camera 2 fixed on a tripod head rotates. Then the rotation varies the diameter of the spiral part of the cable 1 connected to the camera 2 and its quantity of expansion or contraction varies with the angle of rotation. Thus, the stress placed on the cable 1 by the rotation of the camera 2 is absorbed as the fine bending deformation of the spiral part of the cable 1, so the life of the cable 1 is prolonged.
