Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the file recovery time by using error address information stored when an error takes place during the data recovery processing so as to apply file recovery processing to a required file only. CONSTITUTION:When an error takes place during the processing where a data stored in a data save area 4a of a magnetic disk device 4 is restored in a semiconductor memory 1, the relevant block address is stored in an error address information area of a storage section 3 and a counter with the error taken place therein is incremented and the restore processing of the succeeding block is executed. When the restore of all save data is finished, the counter having the error is checked and when the content is 0, it is taken as the recovery success and the counter is incorporated into the system. In case of the counter other than 0, it is taken as a failure of recovery, the error address information 3b of the storage section 3 is read and after only the error file is executed for file recovery processing, the counter is incorporated in the system.
