Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a disk cache control system by writing data written in a write buffer into a disk device and storing the data in the write buffer in case some fault occurs to cause an unwritable state of the data so that a nonvolatile write buffer is used for back-up despite occurrence of a fault. CONSTITUTION:A control table 1-4 is connected to a working head pointer 1-5 in a sequential connection mode and in accordance with the writing action in a nonvolatile write buffer 1-2. A save processing part 1-3 writes successively the head and subsequent items in a disk device 2 for deletion. In case the writing action is impossible due to a fault produced at a medium of the device 2, etc., no writing action is performed and data are stored in the buffer 1-2. Thus the data are stored in the buffer 1-2 for back-up despite some fault produced to the device 2. As a result, the reliability is improved in a disk cache control system.
