PURPOSE:To increase the reliability for the transfer of DMA mode data between various types of devices and a main storage device, by carrying out the collation of discriminating information. CONSTITUTION:Transfer word regions 111-113 plus 124 and 125 of equal capacity are provided at both the transmitter and receiver sides. Each word is divided into address parts 116 and 126 plus data parts 117 and 127, respectively, and the same discriminating information is stored in the address parts 116 and 126 having 1:1 correspondence between the transmission and reception. At the transmitter side, the original data to be transferred is divided into the data parts of plural transfer words to be stored. These data are then synthesized with the discriminating information. Then a transfer word is produced and transmitted. At the receiver side, the discriminating information of the address part within a received transfer word is collated with the discriminating information of the address part in a transfer word region which is previously held by itself.
