Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable effective sewage treatment even if a liquid surface is varied by a method wherein buoyancy is imparted to a base material group of a rotary part so as to protrude a predetermined part thereof above a water surface and a rotary shaft is provided so as to be positioned almost horizontally above the water surface of a sewage to rotate the base material group.
CONSTITUTION: A kind and a mixing ratio of a heavy base material 2b and a light base material 2c are selected to be packed in a basket 1 so as to immerse a predetermined ratio of a base material group 2a in a sewage. In this case, if the light base material 2c is used mainly, because buoyancy becomes too large, a weight is attached thereto to adjust buoyancy of a rotary part. Subsequently, when a drive electromotive speed reducer 9 is driven to rotate the base material group 2a, said base material group is mutually passed through the sewage and air with its rotation and, thereby, the sewage is subjected to aerobic biological treatment and purified. The rotary part is floated above a sewage surface and does not receive any force in an upward and a downward directions and can be rotated by little electric power.
