Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase rotating torque of a water turbine wheel while to decrease flow resistance of a floating body for supporting the water turbine wheel generating rotating torque, by mooring the floating body through chain members to stationary members.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of engaging arms 6 are radially and substantially orthogonally secured to a rotating shaft 5 supported between upper and lower bearing members 2, 2'. An opening and closing foil member 8 is rotatably attached to each engaging arm 6 in a part thereof with the arm 6 being used as a rotating shaft. Left and right floating bodies 1, 1' are arranged to be floated in desired positions below the surface A of water by means of chain members 10, 10' suspended from left and right connecting portions 9, 9' of the left and light floating bodies 1, 1, respectively, and coupled at the lower ends thereof to the engagement portions 12, 12' of stationary members 11, 11', so that the floating bodies 1, 1' are directed in the angular direction of having a large flow resistance to close the opening and closing foils 8 as shown by 8'.
