Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a dehydrated cake with a low water content by a method wherein a high molecular coagulant is added to a sludge in which saw dust or the like is mixed and the formed coagulated substance is introduced into a belt press dehydration apparatus equipped with a gravity dehydrating part having a roll and a high pressure dehydrating part.
CONSTITUTION: In various sludges such as a primary precipitated sludge, a mixed sludge or a digested sludge of a sewage or the like, an additive material such as saw dust containing fibrous substance similar to saw dusts succ as a small piece of a cloth, a wood, a chip or the like in a mixing process. Subsequently, through a coagulation process coagulating the sludge mixture by adding a high molecular coagulant thereto, the formed coagulated substance is introduced into a belt press apparatus 12A to dehydrate the sludge by a belt press dehydrating process 12 discarging a dehydrated cake with a low water content. When a sludge of which a content of a fibrous substance is 10% or less is treated, it is necessary to add a material such as saw dust or the like and it is pref. to add said material to a sludge with a content of a fibrous substance of 30% or less.
