PURPOSE:To prevent the electrolyte leakage of a battery at room temperatures and high temperatures by forming a sealant layer in such a way that amines are mainly placed closely to anode cap side and epoxy compounds are mainly placed closely to the insulating gasket side. CONSTITUTION:A cathode active material 2 such as silver oxide, a separator 3, and an electrolyte absorbent material 4 are placed successively into a cathode can 1, while an anode cap 5 filled with an anode active material 6 such as zinc powder, and both of these packages are sealed together, interposing insulating gasket 7 between them, thus a button type alkaline battery is formed. In the seal part of the battery, a sealant layer 8 comprising amines is placed on the surface of the anode cap 5, and a sealant layer 9 comprising epoxy compounds is placed on the surface of the insulating gasket 7.
