Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the discharge characteristic during the storage, by encapsulating the dry air of 1-2 bar containing no carbon gas at the gap between the air electrode and a generating element containing can. CONSTITUTION:An air electrode 1 is contacted through a separator 2 with a negative pole active substance 3 applied with a negative electrode can 6, then contained in a can 4 formed with a gap 8 having a hole 5 in the bottom while the dry air of 1-2 bar containing no carbon gas is encapsulated in the gap 8 and the hole 5 is sealed tightly by the sealing material 9 such as a seal tape thus to form an air cell. Consequently the electrolyte co-existing with the negative pole active substance 3 is prevented from permeating through the thin hole in a catalyst layer 1' of the air pole 1 due to the air in the gap 8 higher than atmospheric pressure, resulting in the deterioration of the discharge characteristic during the storage and the storage performance.
