Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the electrolyte leakage and improve the performance of a sealed alkaline battery, by using a sealing agent which consists of a nonwatersoluble epoxy resin and a nonwatersoluble amine as a hardener. CONSTITUTION:A positive mixture 3, a negative mixture 4, and a separator 3 laid between them, are placed in a positive-electrode can 1 which also serves as a positive-electrode can 1 which also serves as a positive terminal. Next, a negative-electrode can 5 which also serves as a negative terminal is placed over the negative mixture 4. At the same time, an insulating gasket 6a is interposed between the positive can 1 and the negative can 5 to hermetically seal the battery, and the whole constitutes a button-type alkaline battery. A sealing-agent film 7, which consists of a nonwatersoluble epoxy resin and a nonwatersoluble amine as a hardener, is formed on the surfaces of the positive can 1 and the nagative can 5 which touch the insulating gasket 6a. The thickness of the sealing-agent film 7 is preferred to be over 6mu.
