Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the endurance by interposing a diffusion layer whose As concn. is increased gradually toward an Se-base charge transferring layer between the transferring layer and a charge generating layer made essentially of Se-As alloy so as to prevent the generating layer from being cracked. CONSTITUTION:On a support 1 an Se-base charge transferring layer 2 is formed with Se doped with halogen, an Se-Te alloy or the like. By regulating the amounts of Se and As2Se, a diffusion layer 3 whose As concn. is increased gradually is vapor-deposited on the layer 2 while keeping the support temp. at <=80 deg.C not to crystallize the layer 2. After depositing the layer 3 in a prescribed thickness, a charge generating layer 4 of an Se-As alloy having 30-40wt% As concn. is formed. The layer 4 is coated with an insulating and protective layer 5 of polyester or other resin as required. The layer 4 is hardly crystallized and is not cracked. Thus, a receptor free from fatigue due to repetition and having superior sensitivity in a longer wavelength region, etc. is obtd.
