Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a coating compsn. which gives a cured film having excellent resistance to marring and good adhesion and is useful for sunglass lens, etc., consisting of a condensed hydrolyzate of an alkyltrialkoxysilane, a strongly basic org. amine, water and a solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A coating compsn. is a mixture having a viscosity of 5W20cP at 20°C and consisting of 20W40pts.wt. condensed hydrolyzate (A) in which the molar ratio of R to OH at its end groups is 1:0.05W3 and which is solid, soluble in alcohols and a condensed hydrolyzate of an alkyltrialkoxysilane having the formula RSi (OR')3 (wherein R, R' are each a 1W4 aliph. hydrocarbon group), 0.05W3pts.wt. strongly basic org, amine and/or a weak acid addition salt thereof (B), 2W14pts.wt. water (C) and an org. solvent (D) composed mainly of acetic acid and an alcohol. This compsn, had excellent resistance of marring and adhesive properties of a coating film thereof, while the advantage of the condensed hydrolyzate of the alkyltrialkoxysilane is still retained.
