Abstract

PURPOSE:To monitor the failure points of a relay transmission line at an office station concentratingly, by transmitting a failure retrieval signal including an audio band component in different frequency from the office station and monitoring the level or phase of the frequency component signal returned from the relay point. CONSTITUTION:A band pass filter BPF 6 different from pass band is connected to a relay panel 5 at each relay point, and either a signal including audio band frequency component from an office station 1 having a failure retrieval signal generator 2 and a failure retrieval signal measuring device or a signal including the audio band frequency component with a simple code conversion is transmitted to a transmission line 4 as a failure retrieval signal.
