Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to continue the operation of a plant by automatically supplying a seal gas having a higher pressure than a suction pressure from an intermediate stage during maintenance when a control valve for injection fails to operate properly.
CONSTITUTION: Even if an injection control valve 5 (for injection) should fail, a high pressure gas flows into a balance line 4 through an opening and closing valve 11 and a check valve 12 from an intermediate stage of a compressor 1. A higher pressure gas from a suction pressure is then lead into a reference chamber. As a control valve 9 controls a shaft seal oil against the gas pressure of a gas balance line 4, (the shaft seal oil is designed to be supplied at a pressure hiher than a reference gas pressure), the shaft seal oil can be supplied properly. Therefore, the compressor can operate continuously without emergency stop, even if the control valve 5 should fail.
