Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency of ventilation and the efficiency of cooling of a motor by projecting a small blade on the surface of a boss at each edge of ventilator which goes through the front and rear surfaces of the boss.
CONSTITUTION: A propeller fan is provided with a boss 2, which is a bottomed cylinder having an opening to the rear surface. At the center is provided a bearing member 6 which is fixed to an output shaft for a motor. The boss 2 is provided with a plurality of slit-shaped ventilating holes which are notched in a radiating manner. On the back side is provided a small blade 5 along the edge of each ventilating hole. When the propeller fan A is operated by a motor 1, the air is introduced from each ventilating hole 4 by the small blades, thereby cooling the motor 1.
