Abstract

PURPOSE:To record at a high speed while maintaining a uniform recorded density, by a method wherein the amount of electric current energy fed to each heating resistor in the following current-passing cycle is selected according to that in the preceding current-passing cycle and the transmission time required for picture signal data. CONSTITUTION:The transmission time for every line of the picture signal data is detected by a transmission time detecting circuit 3, and data on the transmission time are outputted. Data indicating the amount of electric current energy fed to each heating resistor in each current-passing cycle are sequentially stored in an RAM6. Based on the output data from the RAM6 as well as the picture signal data and output data from the detecting circuit 3, the amount of electric current energy fed to each heating resistor in the following current-passing cycle is selected by a selecting means 5 and fed to the RAM6. The amount of electric current energy fed to each heating resistor is controlled by a thermal-head controlling circuit 9 in accordance with the output data from the RAM6.
