Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an Ni steel having a weld zone with high rupture toughness by adding C, Si, Mn, Ni, N, P, Al, Ta and S to Fe in a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: An Ni steel consisting of ≤0.18% C, 0.02W0.80% Si, 0.40W2.0% Mn, >6W13.5% Ni, ≤0.010% total N, ≤0.020% P, ≤0.10% Al, 0.003W0.10% Ta, ≤0.015% S and the balance essentially Fe is prepared. To said composition may be added ≥1 kind of element selected from ≤0.1% each of Ti, REM, Ca and Mg, and/or ≥1 kind of element selected from ≤3% each of Cr, Mo, Nb, V and Cu. As the notch toughness of the weld heat-affected zone of the resulting steel ≥ about 0.15mm COD at about -196°C and ≥ about 6.0kg-m 2mmV notch Charpy impact value can be ensured at a thick plate welded joint with about 30W60kJ/cm welding heat input.
