Abstract

PURPOSE: To set target value for braking ensuring the maximum efficiency of braking even when a road surface condition changes by detecting the speed of a wheel when wheel acceleration signals are less than the increase of the wheel acceleration signals during the holding of braking pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Signals Vw from a wheel speed generating circuit 3 are changed into the acceleration signals αw by means of a differentiation circuit 4. A holding circuit 6 produces false acceleration signals α'w following the change of the acceleration signals, and holds value in the case when the increase of the signals α'w stops. A comparator 5 outputs when the acceleration signals exceed αa, and a comparator 7 outpus when the signals exceed the holding value of the holding circuit 6. Differentiation circuits 8a, 8b pulse-drive a RS-FF 9, and the Q' output controls a target value generating circuit 10. Since the target value is set when the increase of the wheel acceleration signals stops, the target value responds to the road surface condition, and the maximum efficiency of braking is obtained.
