Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a pasted lead battery plate having a large active material utilization rate without decreasing its life by adding and kneading a hydrogel into a paste consisting of water and lead powder or lead oxide powder, packing the kneaded mixture into a grid, and immersing the grid packed with the mixture in dilute sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION:Lead powder or lead oxide powder is added and kneaded with an appropriate amount of water so as to prepare a pasty mixture. On the other hand, a water absorbing resin such as a sodium polyacrylate bridged matter is made to absorb water so as to prepare a hydrogel. Next, the above pasty mixture is added and kneaded with the above hydrogel, and the kneaded mixture is packed into a grid. After that, the grid packed with the mixture is immersed in dilute sulfuric acid, and washed with water before it is dried, thereby obtaining a pasted plate.
