Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the rewriting under the control of a controller and to reduce the load of a main body device, by adding a function to the controller of a terminal device to count the number of bytes in case the data supplied from an external storage device is read. CONSTITUTION:The number of bytes which is read through the reading of the data given from an external storage device is counted at and after the head of the data block, and an overrun is detected. In such case, the count value of the byte number obtained when the overrun occurs is stored in a counter storage 13, and the address obtained when the overrun occurred is held at the memory address of a main body device side. Then no data is transferred when the data block having an overrun is read again until a coincidence is obtained between the byte number obtained by counting at and after the head of the block and the byte number stored in the storage 13. The reproduced data is transferred after a coincidence is obtained between both byte numbers. As a result, no overrun is substantially caused when viewed from the side of the main body device.
