Abstract
PURPOSE:To weld an iron collar and a copper pipe together with a brazing material of cast bronze and to reduce the number of component parts of a rotary compressor, by constructing a structure for sealing a suction opening of the compressor by use of an iron collar, a copper pipe and an iron bush. CONSTITUTION:After forcing a diameter-reduced portion 14a of a copper pipe 14 into a cylindrical portion 13a of an iron collar 13, they are welded together by way of furnace brazing with a brazing material of cast bronze inexpensive as a brazing material and having a melting point slightly lower than those of iron and copper. Then, an inclined surface 13b of the collar 13 and the inner end face of a barring portion 11a of a case 11 for incorporating therein the body 12 of a compressor are welded together by way of electric resistance welding, and an iron bush 15 is inserted to the inside of the copper pipe 14 and a suction port 12a of the compressor 12.
