Abstract

PURPOSE:To save an ink film, by a method wherein, in case a blank part is spaced widely more than a given number of lines and the ink film is used wastefully, the ink film is separated together with a heating head so that it is prevented from making press contact with a paper. CONSTITUTION:In a heatsensitive transfer printer, if a print starting position for a paper 1a cut by a cutter 3 is conveyed to a position of a heat-sensitive head 11, the heatsensitive head 11 moves downward with a solenoid 4 being energized, and is brought into press contact with a platen roller 12 through an ink film 13 and a paper. A printing is conducted in a manner to bring the head and roller to press contact with each other, and when a printing is completed, the solenoid 4 is denergized, and the heatsensitive head and an ink film are separated from the paper and platen roller through the force of a spring 8. A paper, whereon a given printing is all completeld through repetion of the operations, is carried out by means of a conveying roller 6. This permits saving of the ink film used with printing.
