Abstract
PURPOSE:To change over image quality control conditions in accordance with magnifications different from 1 or equal to 1, by using 2 microcomputers for sequential control and image quality control. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 15' for controlling sequential copying operations instructs only switching of an exposure lamp, developing bias application, or the like. When an image quality-controlling microcomputer 15 receives said switching instruction from the microcomputer 15', values for forming the optimum image quality are obtained by calculation based on a potential value on the surface of a photosensitive drum detected with an electrometer in order to control exposure lamp voltage and developing bias value. Conventional microcomputers having only limited input and output ports have not been able to operate so far as image quality control in the case of changing magnification, but use of the 2 microcomputers permits image quality controlling conditions to be changed with the microcomputer 15 in accordance with magnification information received from the microcomputer 15'.
