Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent air fuel ratio from being lean during acceleration even if a delay in fuel supply occurs, by interlocking an auxiliary valve with a damper mechanism so that a certain time may be required for the auxiliary valve to be opened even if a throttle valve is rapidly opened.
CONSTITUTION: Opening or closing operation of an auxiliary valve 50 is conducted with the equilibrium of the weight 54 depending upon a frow rate of air. Then, a solenoid valve is operated in response to a signal from a hot wire, while a needle valve is operated so that the velocity of air in a bypass passage is set at a desired value, and at the same time fuel is metered by other valves. Because the operation of the solenoid valve, however, is delayed due to the effect of friction etc., a delay in fuel supply occurs during acceleration. Nevertheless, even if a throttle valve is abruptly opened, the auxiliary valve 50 will not be opened by the provision of a damper 57 interlocked with a lever 51. Thus, air supply is delayed in the auxiliary valve 50 by the amount equivalent to that of in fuel supply, so that a mixture ratio during acceleration does not become lean, with the result that the control of toxic exhaust gas emission and the driving performance are improved.
