Abstract

PURPOSE: To form an optical element with good balance in flexibility and surface hardness by laminating the specific thermosetting resin composition with superior flexibility and inorg. matter with high surface hardness on the surface of a synthetic resin molding.
CONSTITUTION: The thermosetting resin composition comprising the silane compound having hydroxyl groups bound to epoxy groups and silicon atom (e.g.; δ- glycidoxypropylmetoxysilane), silica fine particles of 1W100mμ grain sizes, the aluminum chelate expressed by the formula I [X is lower alcoxy; Y is the ligand occuring in the compound expressed by the formulas II, III (M1, M2, M3, M4 are lower alkyls); n is 0W2] is used. More specifically, the above-mentioned thermosetting resin composition is coated on a synthetic resin molding and is set through heat treatment to form a coating of about ≥1μ thickness. Further, inorg. matter of high hardness [metals, metal oxide (fluoride), etc.] is vapor deposited thereon, whereby the optical element having composite film structure is formed.
